Welcome to our Deaf ARP Page

Audiology

We have Qualified Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (QToDs) who monitor each deaf learner’s audiological management.

We are well-equipped to manage hearing aids, BAHAs and cochlear processors, and we regularly update equipment to accommodate the new audiological technology. We assess and adapt learning environments to ensure they are acoustically appropriate.

We have strong links with the local audiology department and cochlear implant teams to ensure that any issues with equipment are dealt with swiftly, with minimum disruption to the child’s education. These strong links include a termly visit from an Audiology Technician.

All staff working with deaf children will receive basic audiology training, with the option to receive further training.

Please read our Audiology Policy (Policy link).
