Welcome to our Year 4 Page

Miss Slater (4A), Mrs Leila (4B), Mr Winters (4C) and Miss Khanom (4D) would like to welcome you to our Year 4 page.

About Year 4

We provide a positive learning environment where all children are encouraged, engaged, and challenged in their learning in order to reach their full potential. We try our best to make our lessons fun and as interactive as possible

We offer children the opportunity to enjoy and experience a stimulating learning environment which motivates them to work hard and achieve well. We strive to provide a broad, balanced and a creative curriculum which caters for the needs of all children.

Teachers use the overview map (long term plan) and the medium-term plans to plan lessons for each subject. We encourage children to think about a new topic by providing family homework projects. We ask children to evaluate and reflect on their learning at the end of a lesson and at the end of a topic.

Helping your child

Attendance and punctuality are important for children’s learning
to ensure they make progress and receive a well-rounded, full education that
prepares them for the future.

Parental support is an essential part of the pupils’ development.
Homework goes out every Friday and is due back the following Friday. It is
important for their learning that children complete these activities regularly
and use any spare time to extend their learning.
Discussion is a great way to clarify understanding and demonstrate
knowledge so we encourage you to speak with your children about what they are
doing in school and ask questions.
